Women's Gymnastics Wins Dual Meet With Rhode Island College

KINGSTON, R.I. - The Rhode Island women's gymnastics team took first in the dual meet against Rhode Island College on Saturday, Feb. 5 at the Ryan Center with a total team score of 185.150.

Rhody started on the vault and had stong performances from freshman Bridget Murphy (Cranford, N.J.) and sophomore Erica Heaney who tied for first place with a score of 9.400. Senior Emily Domenick (Moon Township, Pa.) took second with a score of 9.350 while Melissa Todd (Easthampton, N.J.) took third with a 9.300. Todd also took second in floor with a score of 9.425.

Heaney also took first in bars hitting her routine and sticking her landing with a score of 9.625. Domenick took second in bars with a 9.550 and finished first overall in the beam with a season best score of 9.550. Domenick also placed first in floor with another season best mark of 9.525.Junior Melissa Skudris (Furlong, Pa.) took third overall in bars with a score of 9.250.

Freshman Jamie Reyell (Worcester, Mass.) tied for second in beam with Anchorwoman, Caren Normandin with a 9.200, while Murphy took third with a 9.100.

Freshman Bridget Hild (Trevose, Pa), who was injured during her vault made a great comeback in floor taking third overall with a score of 9.400.

In the all-around, Domenick took first with a combined season best score of 37.975, Heaney took second with 35.750 and Hannah Scott from Rhode Island College took third with 32.300.
